Description of San Francisco, Muir Woods & Sausalito Tour
Combine the San Francisco City Tour with Muir Woods and Sausalito in one amazing package tour! We start heading north across the Golden Gate Bridge where two of California's unique tourist attractions lay: Muir Woods and Sausalito. Both Muir Woods and Sausalito are located in Marin, one of the most affluent counties in the United States.
This popular tour lasts 6 to 7 hours, and starts in San Francisco, heading through the Marina and Presidio, then crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. From the Golden Gate Bridge there are spectacular views of San Francisco and the Marin Headlands. The tour continues north before winding along the picturesque Highway 1, down to the canyons where Muir Woods lies. Keep enjoying the scenery while we pass Mt. Tamalpais and the ocean in the background of Muir Woods. As you will see, Muir Woods is located only 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in an isolated canyon. The park offers solitude, serenity, peace, and numerous hiking trails. The entrance fee to Muir Woods is not included in the tour.

9:00 AM - 9:30 AMDrive to Muir Woods
We start our excursion by driving through Marina District, home to the Palace of Fine Arts dominated by the Presidio and the Pacific Heights. We keep driving north through the colorful and iconic Golden Gate Bridge passing Sausalito in Marin County where we start winding our road up on the scenic highway 1 and then down to Kent Canyon where Muir Woods lie, about 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Arriving to Muir woods National Monument for an exciting excursion among the majestic Giant Redwoods, the tallest trees on earth, The Park offers serenity and peace along numerous hiking trails. As we leave Muir Woods to Sausalito, we may make an optional photo stop at Muir Beach, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the scenic Highway 1 winding down through the horizon to Stinson Beach that lies in the dramatic Oceanside and its lagoons. You can now understand why Stinson Beach has been the perfect setting for a number of famous movie filming location such as Basic Instinct, The Fog, Play It Again, Sam and Memoirs of an Invisible Man. Arriving to the picturesque Sausalito where you can enjoy a walk at the Mediterranean-style coastal town of Sausalito. A beautiful city filled with history, culture, and waterfront shops. Admire also Sausalito's cliff-hanging cottage houses and its houseboat community that contribute its Mediterranean ambiance and elegance.

We leave Sausalito now across the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco via the Pacific Heights (optional).
