Livermore wineries are over 43 wineries today located on 5000 Acres. Livermore Wine Country is no longer the best-kept secret Wine Country. The Valley is growing up and competing with other outlying Wine Growing Regions. Livermore Valley Wine Growers produced Top Premium Wines, Estate Wines and Reserve Wines.  

What are the assets of Livermore  Wine Country?

Livermore Valley Terroir and Appellation are governed by the particularity of Livermore soil, the east-west geographical orientation of the valley and climate. Livermore Valley is subject to hot days and cool nights due to fog and wind that travel from San Francisco Bay Area to Livermore Valley wine country. The Valley soil is characterized by gravel with excellent drainage, a soil type that reduces the wines’ vigor and increases the flavor concentration in the grapes. Some of our visitors may express this particular wine tasting as an  earthy  tone, rich wine with many layers and long finish.
This geographical distribution provides a microclimate and a unique altitude ideal for grapes that express themselves beautifully in such warm climate and rich soil. Some of these grapes are Cabernet, Syrah, Petit Syrah and Zinfandel. The winemakers we meet every day say “wine is about soil, sun and savoir-faire”. This is part of the complexity of a  “Terroir” that shapes the particularity and personality of a Wine Growing Region.
As for the Livermore Valley Appellation, it derives from the original U.S. appellations granted by the BATF in 1982. This designation was largely based on the unique, gravel-based soils and the cool marine winds drawn into the Livermore Valley every afternoon from San Francisco Bay Area.

8:30 AM - 9:00 AM Pick Up

From your hotel in San Francisco downtown, Fisherman's Wharf or East Bay and South Bay. We travel east to Livermore Valley Wine Country driving through Oakland Bay Bridge and then on highway 580.

 

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Drive to Livermore Valley

Our Livermore Valley Wine Country  Tour starts by driving east though Oakland Bay Bridge, Oakland, Castro Valley ,Dublin and Livermore Downtown.

 

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM First Winery

Arriving to the picturesque rolling hills of Livermore Valley where you will enjoy your favorite wine tasting before lunch. You will visit great wineries and boutiques wineries where you will enjoy  Livermore wines.

 

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Lunch Time

Lunch time may take place anywhere in Livermore Old Town or  in Livermore Valley in a restaurant or as a picnic lunch within a winery we will choose for you the same day according to your taste and expectations. Our schedule is flexible to match your needs and expectations.

 

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM More Wineries

Our Livermore Wine Country Tour will offer you now a relaxing afternoon for more wine tasting and panoramic excursions . We may visit some wine caves and hidden wineries to add more charm to your Livermore  Wine Country Tour. A wine connoisseur will share with you the amazing story of the Wine Country while you taste your favorite wine over the picturesque rolling hills of Livermore Valley. A breathtaking photos stop is included over Altamont pass wind farm, the biggest wind farm in the US.

 

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Back to San Francisco

Our Livermore Wine Country  Tour will now take you back to San Francisco after such amazing  journey in Livermore Valley wine country.

 

5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Drop Off

Our tour guide will drive you back to your hotel via the famous  Treasure Island with an optional stop to picture San Francisco skyline!
