Terms and Conditions
These are Golden Horizon Travel's Terms and Conditions, including reservation and cancellation policies.
I. Reservation and Cancellation Policy and Refunds
General Terms:
Please read the following information very carefully. This constitutes an agreement between you (the client) and Golden Horizon Travel LLC. If you have any questions about our reservation and cancellation policy, you can call us at 1 800 210 3008 to speak to one of our representatives about cancellations and changes. Please call between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm Pacific Time. If your call is urgent and you reach our voicemail, please leave a clear and detailed message, leaving your information so that we may contact you. Be sure to include your name, your reservation ID number, and the tour departure dates to prevent avoidable errors. You may also fax your information and necessary changes to 1 800 210 3009. If it is not urgent, you can email your request for cancellation or package changes via email at: info@goldenhorizontravel.com
Please sign and initial your request when canceling or changing your package or tour, stating that you agree that your old vouchers and reservations are no longer valid, and that you agree to the new dates and times, including the required additional fees for your new reservation.
If paying for the new tour with a credit card or a debit card, the customer is hereby stating that he or she is the authorized card holder, or that customer has been authorized by the card holder to use the credit card. In the event that the credit card step is dishonored, rejected, or later contested for any reason which may result in any eventual dispute, the customer agrees that the prevailing party in any dispute concerning fees or costs owing to Golden Horizon Travel LLC, for services provided or booked to customer, shall be entitled to the recovery of his or her reasonable attorney's fees and costs.
Cancellation Fees:
Golden Horizon Travel LLC's cancellation fees are as follows:
- 100% of total trip price for any confirmed reservation canceled more than 72 hours prior to tour departure.
- 58% of total trip price for any reservation canceled between 72 and 48 hours prior to tour departure.
- 40% of total trip price for any reservation canceled between 48 and 24 hours prior to tour departure.
- No Refunds for any cancellation made within 24 hours of tour departure, or for no-shows.
- the Yosemite Two Day Tour requires 10 day cancellation notice prior to the departure date between May 1 and September 30.
Other aspects related to tour booking and conditions are as follows:
- All reservations that have not been completed or pre-authorized due to credit card issues are considered as incomplete, and therefore canceled. You can always call our office at 1 800 210 3008 to resolve this issue, or make a new reservation. Voice authorizations are subject to a fee of $2.29. Be sure you leave your correct email and phone number so that we may contact you to resolve declined or incomplete transactions.
- All transactions will be paid in United States currency US Dollars. Reservation via our website is free, and discounts of up to 10% are often available. Reservations over the phone are subject to a fee of $2.29 per person, and per transaction. We accept valid and properly signed traveler's checks that match your ID or passport. A 50% deposit is required when booking, if booked within 72 hours, and full payment is due if booked within 48 hours or less.Please note that all our SUV tours require three weeks cancellation prior to to your departure day of the required tour
Accepted Credit Cards:
We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover Card, and American Express credit cards. Debit cards are also accepted. American Express is always subject to additional fees due to their transaction costs per item and per person, which they apply to us. Please note that foreign credit cards may be subject to some additional fees, due to the currency conversions.
When you process your payment online, agreeing with our terms and conditions and the posted prices for the tour, you fully agree with these terms and payments, and you may not dispute these charges under any circumstances. We assume no responsibilities for no-shows, incorrect addresses and locations provided by clients, or simply because they decide not to go on the tour. Your debit or credit card is charged immediately when you confirm your purchase on the website. A first email is sent informing you that your payment has been made out but not yet processed. A second email will be sent to you once your payment is processed and accepted with a voucher. We may also fax you a copy of your voucher if you have no email address. Please print out your voucher and present it when you check in on the day of the trip.
All reservations that have not been completed or are not pre-authorized due to credit card issues are considered incomplete, and therefore canceled. No changes to your reservation are allowed within 72 hours of the trip. No refunds will be made on unused portions of a tour for a no-show. Reconfirmation:
The customer is required to reconfirm the tour and travel services 24 hours to 48 hours prior to the tour by calling 1 800 210 3008, or by email at info@goldenhorizontravel.com , or by fax at 1 800 210 3009. When calling to reconfirm, please ensure that you provide the right time and tour, and above all the right pick up location. Please provide the name of the hotel or the location, the zip code, and the mailing address. Please provide your cell phone number to allow us to reach you when necessary.
Vouchers:
Vouchers are valid only during the dates of travel as indicated on the confirmation of the person(s) named on the voucher. Vouchers expire following the ending date of the trip. Vouchers may not be redeemed outside of those dates of travel.
Delivery:
Our delivery method is based on a confirmation of the required reservation sent via email to users and clients. By accepting our delivery method, the client approves and accepts that as a proof of Golden Horizon Travel LLC provides tour booking, travel services, and deliver a confirmation of this service to clients by email within 24 to 48 hours sent as a voucher, or as an E-Ticket by email to client. The delivery of the tour or travel service itself takes place on the indicated date your required on our website, or over the phone or by fax. The date of the delivery is indicated on the voucher we send you by email. The client hereby agrees and accepts the Internet as the means of delivery for his or her confirmation, as mentioned above. The client further agrees that Golden Horizon Travel LLC's proof that the E-Tickets and vouchers were provided online and sent by email establishes legal proof of delivery. It is the client's responsibility to ensure and print out the voucher or the E-Ticket. It can be used only on this particular day for the name, or names that appear on the voucher or the E-Ticket. Please make sure to provide a valid and functional email address for this delivery. Please make sure you don't delete it through a spamblocker, or for any other reason. If you don't get the required delivery within 24 to 48 hours at the email address you provided. Please contact us as soon as you can, and we will issue a new voucher to you. We assume no liability or responsibility for missing information or incomplete orders. Our products and services are very clear, and delivered as described on our website.
Digital Signature:
As you may know, the Georgia Electronic Records and Signature Act gives the same validity to a digital signature as is given to a signature signed in ink on a regular contract. All client tours and travel services and other related services required by a customer from Golden Horizon Travel LLC will be validated by customer's Digital Signature.
Thus the customer states by the typed signature that the information provided is correct, and the client authorizes Golden Horizon Travel LLC to charge the required and agreed amount of money. This electronic signature means that the client accepts Golden Horizon Travel's Terms and Conditions, privacy policy, delivery method, and the cancellation policy. The client agrees on the use of the Electronic records after accepting our terms and conditions. By placing an order on our website, the client agrees with our policy and agrees to the use of his or her electronic records as evidence of this agreement. The client also understands that he or she has the right not to consent to the use of electronic records by canceling this transaction. You can simply click on decline if you wish. In such an event, this will be null and void. Client's consent applies only to this transaction made through our website. Customer hereby consents to waive any objection he or she may have with Golden Horizon Travel LLC's use of these electronic records in court, should it be necessary for Golden Horizon Travel LLC to enforce the terms of this agreement. Also, the client agrees that the prevailing party in any dispute concerning fees or costs owing to Golden Horizon Travel for services provided to a customer shall be entitled to the recovery of his or her reasonable attorney's fees and costs.
Refund Policy
Golden Horizon Travel's Refund Policy is described as follows:
- 100% of total trip price for any confirmed reservation canceled more than 72 hours prior to tour departure.
- 58% of total trip price for any reservation canceled between 72 and 48 hours prior to tour departure.
- 40% of total trip price for any reservation canceled between 48 and 24 hours prior to tour departure.
- No Refunds for any cancellation made within 24 hours of tour departure, or for no-shows.
- the Yosemite Two Day Tour requires 10 day cancellation notice prior to the departure date between May 1 and September 30.
We assume no liability or responsibility for missing information or incomplete orders. Our products and services are very clear, and delivered as described on our website, and therefore we assume no responsibility for charge disputes, or any chargeback fees that may occur. No refund will be issued for any client mistakes or misunderstandings of our policies. We reserve the right to change tour refund policy without prior notice.
II. Responsibility and Tour Change Liability
Golden Horizon Travel LLC herein, as a tour and travel contractor or as a tour and travel subcontractor, assumes no liability or responsibility for anything that may occur during all tours and travel, and therefore Golden Horizon Travel LLC does not assume any responsibility or liability for:
- Any injuries or illness suffered by a customer, or any loss or damage of personal property or accidents
- Our inability to perform the required services due to vehicle or any other means of transportation, breakdowns, or vandalism.
- We are not responsible for any trip delays, inconveniences, itinerary changes, or cancellations due to forces or circumstances beyond our control, including weather conditions, traffic, road work or hazards, monuments, winery and park closures, or any other situations beyond our control.
- We reserve the right to cancel or change drivers, vehicles, tours, itinerary, rates, or to cancel or substitute routes and stops on any tour without prior notice. We reserve the right to change or cancel directions, scheduled visits in parks, monuments, wineries, and all other sites of interest due to lack of time, traffic, weather conditions, and any other circumstances beyond our control.
- Most of our trips require a minimum number of participants in order to run the required tour. We reserve the right to refer you to one of our sister companies, partners, subcontractors, or simply cancel the tour and refund your deposit if we do not meet the minimum number of participants for the tour.
- We reserve the right to remove any passenger who is causing a disturbance, or who represents a threat to the smooth and safe operation of a tour, or the safety and enjoyment of other patrons.
- Every passenger must respect the time constraints determined by the driver or the tour guides when stopping at vista points, sites of interest, for lunch breaks, or for hiking. We are not responsible for delays caused by a client who affects in any way the amount of time scheduled for the tour.
- Meals, entrance fees, wine tasting fees, or other expenses of a personal nature are not included in the tour price.
- Tours may include physical activities such as hiking, walking, entering and exiting vehicles, and other activities involving risks like elevation changes and carsickness. We assume no liability or responsibility for injuries or health issues that may occur during the tour. All clients are responsible for evaluating and assuming the risks that they undertake during the tour while walking, hiking, tasting wine, at other tour sites, or during lunchtime. Please inform us if you have any health problems before making your reservation.
- Any change or modification to arrival and departure dates made by the client are subject to review and approval by Golden Horizon Travel LLC and its partners or sister companies. This may involve additional fees.
III. Online Booking, Deposit and Payments
- All of our tours and services require payment of a deposit defined and specified by the company. Full payment of the tour price is due no later than 72 hours prior to the departure of the scheduled trip. This applies only on our 1 day trips. For trips that last 2 days or longer, please refer to the terms and conditions posted on the page that describes our tours, services, and travel packages lasting more than one day.
- For all tours that last more than one day requiring accommodations (hotels, motels, lodges, etc), all of our prices are based on double occupancy. Rooms with two double beds can accommodate a maximum of four people. No rollaway beds are allowed. Rooms other than those specified on our website, like suites, rooms with king size beds, or other extra features are subject to additional fees.
- All of our vehicles, offices, and rooms are non-smoking, in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations. If you have any special requests, like a disability room, a room with a view or balcony, or other special requests, you must inform us about any particular health issues, including but not limited to: susceptibility to carsickness, elevation changes, or other health issues that may affect the trip.
- We assume no responsibility for illness, injury, or accident.
- Prices are per person, unless specified otherwise. All of our prices are based on US dollars. All prices and availability are subject to change without prior notice. Tour prices and availability cannot be guaranteed until full payment is received and confirmed. It is your responsibility to translate these enclosed terms and conditions that include our privacy policy and payments into your language. We assume no responsibility or liability for your interpretation and translation of our terms and conditions.
Your credit card will be charged the full amount at the time of order for most tours.
Declined Credit Cards:
If the authorization on the credit card provided is declined, we will attempt to notify you by email at the address you provided when you booked the tour. The reservations will be cancelled, and will need to be rebooked depending on availability. It is the client's responsibility to provide a valid email address, and accurate contact information and all other required data that match with your credit card.
Accepted Credit Cards:
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express credit cards. Debit cards are also accepted. American Express is always subject to additional fees, due to their transaction costs per item and per person that they apply to us. Please note that foreign credit cards may be subject to some additional fees due to currency conversions.
IV. Confirmation: Date, Time, and Pickup Location
All clients should refer to their confirmation and pickup location sent by email or fax. Please contact us by email at info@goldenhorizontravel.com , or call our office at 1 800 210 3008 if you didn't get your confirmation. Since there are many hotels with similar names, it is your responsibility to make sure the tour operator has your correct hotel name and the location. There are no refunds for no-shows, and no pick-ups outside of the designated areas (Downtown San Francisco and Fisherman's Wharf). However, you may call us to arrange a pick up outside of these areas for an additional fee. It is your responsibility to be at the designated tour pick up location at the correct date and time. Please check your confirmation carefully. Due to traffic conditions, and the needs of other clients who are waiting to be picked up, our drivers and tour guides do not wait more than 15 minutes at any pick up location for late travelers. Some of our partners leave at the exact scheduled time. Please be on time.
Tour and service durations are based on approximate time, and can be subject to delay and changes due to traffic, weather conditions, or other reasons. Some specific tours and activities have higher cancellation fees due to the limited space available. Detailed information about cancellation fees is listed above.

We reserve the right to update these policies at our discretion. Changes will be posted on the website. Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
Website Terms and Conditions, including definitions and notices
Any references to the "customer", "client", "user", "visitor", "guest", "patron", "you", or "your" includes the person or persons involved, or requesting the services, or those names who appear on the voucher. Also, this agreement refers to any tour provider, tour contractor, or subcontractor's clients.
The terms and conditions apply to any family members, friends, employees, agents, or persons accessing:
- any references to Golden Horizon Travel LLC, including its partners, sister companies, affiliates, and/or suppliers
- any and all images or web content of www.goldenhorizontravel.com and www.goldenhorizontravel.net. These websites are owned by Golden Horizon Travel LLC, copyright 2004 & 2008.
VI. Passengers With Disabilities
Golden Horizon Travel LLC makes a reasonable effort to accommodate all passengers' needs. However, our vehicles are not equipped with disability access, wheelchairs and other disability aids. We assume no responsibility for injury or inconvenience due to disability. We cannot guarantee hotel rooms for the handicapped. Passengers with disabilities must advise and inform Golden Horizon Travel LLC by email or via fax with this regard when making their reservation. We reserve the right to decline a booking should it be determined that we are unable to properly accommodate or meet our obligations to that passenger.
VII. General
Seniors and students must present a valid senior or student ID at the time of departure to validate their discount rate, if applicable. Tour Guide's and Driver's gratuities are not included in the fees for the tour. Tour prices do not include meals, wine tasting, charges, winery tours, and park and monument entry fees. Admission fees, tolls, and souvenirs are not covered unless noted. All our vehicles and offices are non-smoking according to state and federal laws.
Languages:
Tours are conducted in English unless noted on the website or on the vouchers. If you require a different or additional language, please let us know ahead of time what that language will be. We will attempt to provide a tour guide who speaks the required language. This may be subject to additional charge.
Private tours, limousines, and charter services:
All of our daily private tours and charters are based on eight hour quotes, and subject to review, change, and overtime charges. If you book a limousine, an SUV may be substituted at our determination, based upon availability. We do not guarantee the type of vehicle that will be used on a given day.
