Hollywood in Los Angeles

 

Hollywood is a district located in the northwest part of Los Angeles. The district of Hollywood is surrounded by Beverly Hills ,West Hollywood, Mulholland Drive and Laurel Canyon. Hollywood is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. Hollywood is crowded during the day and a appreciated for its nightlife as well. Many historic Hollywood Hotels and theaters are used as venues and concert stages to premiere major theatrical releases and host the Academy Awards.

Hollywood Yesterday:

Glen-Holly Hotel was the first hotel and monument in Hollywood area located now at the corner of Yucca Street.

The Motion picture industry was also created with Nestor Studio,Hollywood Guide Hollywood's first movie studio that emerged back in 1913. This opened the door to filmmaking in the Los Angeles area and establishing the filmmaking industry in Hollywood.

It was in Hollywood studios where the first feature film was made in back in 1914. By 1915, the majority of American films, radio stations and televisions moved to Hollywood district. Among them , four major film companies including Paramount, Warner Bros, RKO and Columbia who moved their studios in Hollywood.

Hollywood Today

On January 22, 1947, the first commercial television station began operating in Hollywood where music recording studios and offices began moving into.

Hollywood has become the heart of the industry for television, films and music since 1911.

The City has many attractions as the Walk of Fame, Universal Studios, Hollywood Guide the famous Hollywood sign, museums with historic movies artifacts, and tributes to idols from all around the world, its famous shopping centers , hotels, nightclubs. Hollywood’s Stars Homes and much more.

In late 1990s, some businesses, however, started migrating to different parts of the Los Angeles , primarily to Burbank such NBC.

The famous Hollywood Walk of Fame was created back in 1958 and Hollywood Guidethe first star was placed in 1960 as a tribute to artists working in the entertainment industry. This tribute is based on career and lifetime achievements in motion pictures,

The Kodak Theatre which was once the historic Hollywood hotel became the new famous Kodak Theater, home of the Oscars today.
